This beautiful little bird was perched close to the edge of the billabong.
Tried some shots with fill in flash.

I remember a few years ago being told that there were kingfishers along a river Coguet in Rothbury England I have walked that riverside many times and only caught one distant glimpse of a kingfisher flying away from me at the speed of a bullet. So I have never got a shot of them at all. Very nice shot of a beautiful bird. Even with the big lens you have on it looks like he is posing just for you.

Awesome indeed! I would wish wildlife was so confident around here... Kingfishers (that I find they are like a miracle) are especially difficult to observe, and of course worse to photograph! endika
