Marv on Large Canvas-Shirley
by Shirley Haden

Taken late in the day with the sun through the trees making a nice pattern on the hanger. He was a nice guy to go stand there, it was only in the 30s F* today. Burrrrr! The Minnesota winter is only around the corner!

K.A., I didn't even get the entire wall in the photo. I was quite surprised and how small this hanger made Marv look.

The interesting thing with this one is that it can suspend one's sense of scale. Is Marv six feet tall or is he in Brobdingnag and really only six inches tall? The effect of the image is intriguing.

cool shot, and the shadows of the tree add to this theatrical curtain that Marv, as to the narrator of Thorton Wilder's "Our Town", begins the town's Community Theater's production.

This is a fine example of the topic. I like the contrast of the metal structure and the human beeing. Nicely composed too. MCsaba
