Time Warp - MikePDX

Ely Nevada

The shops of the Nevada Northern RR in Ely, Nevada. Fascinating place! Can you detect any modern-day anomalies?

Well, I can spot a bottle of water. Oh sorry, Can I say that now when the competition is almost over?

I love the "find the things that don't belong" part of your photo. It was great fun looking at each and every detail. Smart thinking Mike!

WOW now this is what I call real history. All the equipment looks so familiar.

Barry - you probably saw most of them. The few things that show up as being from a different time really stand out in the color version. The blue plastic jug on the workbench, and near it the role of yellow caution tape. Then there are the thermos jug and aerosol spray cans on the workbench next to the workers. And of course, the clothing. Workmen of the 30's and 40's would most likely have been wearing fedoras, not baseball caps.

Thanks for the comments!

What a beautiful locomotive. That looks like a great place to visit. As for the anomalies, I can see a few plastic containers but perhaps there's something else I'm missing?

I think you capture the essence of "old" here superbly. Not just the locomotive, but the engineers and the workshop. It reeks Old.
