ARC Gloria - aja2

The ARC Gloria is a training ship and official flagship of the Colombian Navy. It was docked in Honolulu Harbor for a few days. What a blast!

There is something so graceful about tall ships. You found the perfect spot the capture this one. A few years ago we had the tall ships race in the River Tyne in England and it was a magic sight to see them all.

Thanks very much, endika & shirley. I was on a viewing balcony of the Aloha Tower to take this shot. It was the only real way to get the whole ship in the lens. I liked how small it made the people look, too.

I did miss them coming into port. Had I known they were coming, my shot would have included all the crew atop the sail riggings!

Beautiful ship indeed. I saw it in a tall ship meeting in Barcelona. The last day, all the ships left the harbour and took their rumb by sails, which was a great spectacle.
I agree in that this is a very unusual and appealing view of the ship.

Yes what a blast to see! You got an excellent view from your perch up above it too. It's not to often I've seen ship photos from above so you can see the deck. What a fancy ship it is, beautiful!
