Two sets of lines consolidate the scene: The shadow and curb lines form a literal intersection, echoed on figurative level by the tripod and stair railing -- separate line-forms connected mentally by the viewer. Photographer's crouch enlivens an otherwise static scene. Lots of attractive mid-tone detail.

I like the B7W rendition because that in itself sells the story. It's a fair bet that photographer will be shooting in Sepiatone. An image in an image and a good find.
First off, great photo! I've often wondered what it would be like to use a camera like the one in your photo. There was a great story about the Federal Reserve Bank located (I believe) in Minneapolis. There were great panoramic photos taken of the employees or officers(?) over many years time, since it's beginning. I was so intent on looking at these photos, which were remarkable to see, and didn't pay close enough attention to the story, but this fellow taking the photo used this cool old camera that he had on a tripod and the film actually moved along as he panned over the big 4 deep line of employees, the same type that was used in the past. It was awesome! This photo of yours is great too!
