Fence at Schoolhouse and Teacherage-Shirley
by Shirley Haden

This was the most elaborate wooden fence I'd ever seen. We purposely drove about 5 miles just to go see this place and it's cool fence.

This was a fascinating fence to see for real and your pic captured it real well.

Did you notice those spacers between each rail? I thought those were unique too. This went across the entire front of the property with brick gate posts(?) with wrought iron gates with birds and flowers and leaves and perched on top of the brick 2'x2' posts were the same wooden caps that sit on the fence posts. It was pretty cool. The buildings inside were as whimsical as the fence. Yellow buildings with white and dark turquoise trim. There was a house some out buildings and a green house for plants. I'll look for a link to it online.

I'd have never thought that such a thing even existed. Makes me wonder why it built that way. Captivating image that captures the imagination. --Stefan

Incredible, and surely unique. Protected from sun and rain, the underlying fence should stand for many decades.
