Extreme, intense light against the shadow ... and even the isolation is almost overwhelming. A wonderful shot, all around!

Hi Shirley -thanks. I was thinking more about 'going to the extremes' by shooting directly into the sun to get this effect - no color-correction here! And you're probably correct - this is on the North Shore, during one of the frequent winter swells.

Lovely golden warmth in this shot. The palms always give away the climate. Is this fellow waiting for an extreme wave? I'm sure he is!
