Goose Family Connections - Brad

This is taken at a town pond, in the middle of my suburban NJ, town of Westfield , maybe a half mile from my house, if that, this family was quite content with me taking pics, never less than 10 feet until someone walked their dog along , and then dogs and geese went berserk, this mama is not going to let her babies be harassed, luckily we have a leash law in town.

Love the texture of the goslings! This is a great shot. My local goose brood also numbers five so maybe it's the ideal family size for 2013.

Awwww aren't they adorable! I just want to sit there in the grass and watch them. They really do connect with their parents. Up until they are 5 days old though, other geese can steel them away from their parents and take over. After 5 days they're pretty attached to mom and dad and not so gullible. The geese here just got on their nests, everything is about a month behind schedule, including the babies. This picture really makes me smile.
