This thing is dragged across the sea floor and the scallops get snared in the wire loops between the rollers. It's not all that eco-friendly a system. We harvest Atlantic sea scallops in this region; they are very large.

Oops, I must be hungry, I forgot to say I find this contraption very interesting, I haven't a clue how you harvest scallops, Looking at this photo, I can honestly say, I still am clueless but it sure peaks my interest.

I can't imagine how wonderful all that fresh fish would taste. I would love to try some properly cooked scallops some day. I'm afraid in the meantime I'll stick to Walleye and Salmon.
