The thumbnail shows the lights from outside. The cause is trying to hold a camera steady for 6 seconds after a couple of whiskys. Set at ISO 100, f5.0, for 6 secs.

The thumbnail was from outside, a day later. The main shot was from in the hotel reception area so the stars could well be missing... But the idea of setting a timer for maybe 15 mins with a whisky (ne "E" - Scotch not Irish) between each does appeal! Thanks, Brad. TonySx

Ah the whiskey, effect, the effect is really cool, next time take a series, one whiskey, then another until you end up with the sky star trail shot as you are now flat on your back with the camera pointing to the sky
