The Perfect Spot-Shirley
by Shirley Haden

These fat spiders take advantage of the perfect spot to catch insects at night; on the lights that keep the mail boxes lit up at night.

This is a really cool shot! Th play of light and shadow make that spider look truly threatening.

Funny enough Endika, this is full color! The spider was a light brown and the lights gave this yellow sepia looking glow to the spiders and their webs. I couldn't have made it monotoned any better than it just came out. Thanks for all the comments fellas.

This is a great macro shot, but over all it's a ver good composition. I like specially how you've played with monochrome and negative space.

I am really glad you left the light in. it somehow makes the spider look a lot more deadly.

Well I am am like Michael, I was bit by a recluse spider, and had a bright red mark and then scar on my right check, now that I am 58 years old, it has disappeared under facial lines (wrinkles), I still find them fascinating , my resident garden spider recently disappeared, he built the web but then ...found a better space?

I guess I just have a phobia about spiders as even a picure of one makes me shudder. That aside you did capture it well.
