Feeling like tick bait -ArtP
by ArtP

Saturday went down the wrong trail in Connetquot River State Preserve. Lost count of the ticks I pulled off my clothing and skin, they were even in my pockets. The shoes were worst. Sprayed them, but still finding ticks two days later.

LOL! I can still remember coming in from the meadow walk and putting the clothes in the closet hamper and seeing the ticks all over the wall - and hoping that I found them all before Winnie walked in :-)

It gets so that you start feeling them crawling on your skin. Spring is the worst here - and they thin out quite a bit by mid-July.

This is a Lone Star tick, I also picked up dog ticks and wood ticks as well as dozens of deer ticks. Did get a few bites, but got them all before they started feeding - not long enough to transmit disease

Art, I would be concerned if those were deer ticks. I can't quite say I've ever seen one with the little yellow spot on the back. I hope you got them all found. Lyme's desease is nothing to sneeze at either. I know someone who had a very bad reaction to it and is in very bad shape.

Oh great job Art! Now I'll be feeling creepy crawlys all night long! LOL Ticks basically gross me out. This is how I like to see them, on someone else. :o)

yeah, the thing about ticks, they are really subtle biters, you only see them after they have done it, I used to pull wood ticks off my dog growing up,, yours is another kind of tick, I think that the red color against the pinkish skin works great,,that is a great capture, and the detail works well, and shows the capabilities of your new camera,

Don't you just hate those little buggers!!! I have lots of them on the rock as well.
