I first read the novel and loved it. Kinsella's writing appeals greatly to me, and I already knew it from having taught some of his short stories in my high school classes. I was sorry that J D Salinger's character ended up being dropped from the movie, as I didn't think the replacement (Mann) was nearly as convincing. While I enjoyed "Field of Dreams", I felt that the book was much more compelling. Anyhow, this shot captures the essence of that Iowa cornfield where so many things happened.
