Eternity - by endika

Inside the impressive Burgos Cathedral, in a very rich chapel, Mencía de Mendoza y Figueroa is buried with her husband, Pedro Fernandez de Velasco, Constable of Castilla.
Why the humans we have this need of trascending the limit of our existence?

Funny you said that Endika. I've had some close calls and thought (honestly) that I wouldn't be here today. And now with Zach in our lives, it really bugs me so much, knowing that when I'm gone he won't remember me. I know it is true, because my own mother has been gone for 24 years and it is hard to remember the important things, like her voice...it's faded away and I hate that, I just remember bits and pieces. I totally understand why they wanted intombed in their own likeness.

Loves the subtle tones in this. The expression is so serene

You ask "Why the humans we have this need of trascending the limit of our existence?" ,, because you end up with art like this,,absolutely beautiful (although I would my ashes scattered around the place (woods,, sea,, )

it is true, Endika. My pleas to my children to bury me in a cardboard box or linen cloth so I can go back to the earth is just met with laughter. We hope to leave our mark but in two generations we are usually all but forgotten.
