The Dalai Lama was in Washington for a 10-day Buddhist event - the Kalachakra. There were thousands of meditators and monks milling around during the breaks. My actual title is "A Teachable Moment." --Stefan

The monk is wearing shoes and not sandals as I would expect. But I have never seen such monks in person. He does not look like a pacifist to me. FrankNG
