+Spring or Winter Make Up Your Mind-Shirley
by Shirley Haden

Carlos Avery

Brrrrrr, it was so cold and windy today, this morning there was snow on the trees and grass, and even though the wild life has returned, Spring just can't shove winter out. I guess we're lucky though, this cold air has caused many deaths (40 is what I last heard) from tornados in the southern states.

I did this using several art filters on a b&w version then just now I wondered how it would look all layered together with the original photo and I liked it. Now, of course I will never know what I did. LOL It was too much playing around.

So far so good Chris! I like the grip a lot. I haven't been able to get out and really shoot with it yet. I'm hoping to find some one to come and model for me so I can do some head shots in my little studio set up. I have no complaints yet. :o) I'm happy.

Shirley, I see the benefit of E-5. How do you like the new baby?

It was cold Richard, the wind chill was 30* the temp was just around 38-40*(F). Too cold!

Chris, I did a b&w conversion then I used a couple of art filters, one that made it grainy and yikes, I haven't a clue what the other one was. I'll post the b&w version in originals. I didn't like it as much as the color normal photo, then I put it over the original in layers, used something like screen or pin light (one of the light layers) reduced the opacity until I liked it and this is what I ended up with. :o) I should keep track but I never do.

It looks really cold but your treatment might be responsible for that

Excellent application of dramatic tone filter, I presume. Mood is great!

Perfect slate gray but actual color tones
