I love lent. It is such a wonderful time for reflecting on those that are and have been important in our lives.

Thank you.
No much secrets here: RAW shooting, and a balanced exposition to get detail in the shades while keeping high lights under control. Usually, you can rely in the 620's ESP metering for this.

I am amazed at the level of DR you've acheived, atmospheric lighting. I've got the same camera, I am very thankful you've shown me it's capabilities. Love it.

Frank, what a coincidence. Really the cloister of the Cathedral is a very special place to do any kind of cerimony.

Excellent shot Endika! Curiously, two of my nieces were baptised in the chapel on the right (Cristo de Lepanto).

Great lights and colors! Good use of the 9mm end of this thing to produce a natural result, though maybe you were doing it for the aperture as much as anything.

From the light on the wall and the shades on her head, it is bright and sunny outdoors. Why is it that we so often create darkness in order to worship? It is a strange ambiance to celebrate the radiant. Obviously I like this evocative shot, Endika. --Stefan

The Barcelona Cathedral cloister is a unique place, where is easy to find some special atmosphere and light, the most difficult part is to keep visitors out of the frame ;o)

As Brad has noted, there are so many kinds of light here, and the eye travels to each area in turn. The woman's arm placing the votive light is a dynamic element and also blocks our access, in essence, to the back part of the aisle. She is in her own moment, and the visitors in the background don't exist for her. Intriguing shot with so many details I want to explore further.

light,, presents itself in the woman, lighting the candle, zooming my eye to the very back dark space center but with a bright hexagonal window, I then go to the very bright light left center of her hair, and light above it, not a main attraction but serves as an accent light, and then,, the lighting in the left the dapple light off the doors and steps,, the most interesting part of the image (after a long look)
