Field angel - Colin
by

A relatively rare creature, their presence in the still green wheat fields of Hampshire announces summer has begun in earnest at last.
.
If disturbed they sit very still, hoping their camouflage will keep them unseen, only taking flight at the very last moment.
Or am I thinking of pheasants…

She is lovely! Makes me think of Ceres and Persephone - grain mother and her daughter, who brings the spring when she returns each year from the Underworld. Your wonderful photos bring myth and magic to life.

Jeeez you are lucky . The only thing I run into are a few snakes , blood sucking horse flies and the occasional vagrant that either begs or threatens to mug me. Things are really different in you part of the world. Nice model and shot though. Actually getting to a stage in my life where I would think if I ran into a feild angle like this “ Na to much trouble.”

Must keep my eyes open next time I see a wheat field! Nice use of backlighting!

Must be pheasant, because the cammo is not working today... maybe she was expecting snow?
