The "Vasa" - Kleivis
by kleivis

Swedish warship that was built from 1626 to 1628 and sank after sailing less than a nautical mile (ca 2 km) into her maiden voyage on 10 August 1628.

The picture is of a model. The real Vasa can be seen at the Vasa Museum in Stockholm. The wreck was realocated in the early 50s and lifted from the bottom in 1961. The museum is a must if you ever visit Stockholm.

Same here Brad. Different conference (2009) but same dinner location. The whole museum is indeed fascinating as is the story about the poor design of the boat that just toppled over directly after its launch
