yes, this is done very well. the oof bg focal length really emphasizes the shoes, like you did not already know it. I guess it is best said you did a great job making the mundane interesting

hah, thanks Brenda. I went to the neighborhood park to try out a new lens and found this perfect subject sunning on the rocks :) The mountain in the background is called Red Mountain located by Mesa, AZ.

Hahahahahaha! Love this. And is that the Devil's Tower (or a similar formation) in the background? That, and the title, lend a huge extra layer of meaning to the shot.
