Colin he is a lefty, but he really can't sign but can if I get to it press a paw in ink

wow, thank you all for the nice comments, the focal point was the face but he held this position for such a short time I am not sure where it focused? I think that this is the first time the grain of the higher ISO actually contributed to the quality of one of my images.

Nice portrait, Richard. The lighting does give him an aura of majesty.

Almost looks like he has a halo/aura. To me he always seems just one expression away from looking irritated. Interesting looking background.

Very nice, cool looking cat!

His paws almost seem detached from the rest of him. I like that effect. What was the focus point in this picture? it seems as if it is just in front of him.

Aha! there's Freddy. This is a gorgeous portrait. Love that aural effect that gives him an almost mystical essence. This is a beauty Richard!

BTW , does he use his left or right paw ?

thank you for the nice comments, Freddy says he will personally autograph a picture for anyone who wants one.

I am afraid his pretty face has gone to his head LOL

Really very well done. Background is excellent, isolates him nicely and the light is just right too.
Bet your please with this one!

Nicely done portrait, Richard. Like your conversion too.

He looks quite regal! Such a serious look for his serious portrait. It's surprising that his different shades of fur show up so well in B&W, a pleasant surprise.

The gleam in those eyes stands out! Freddy looks like he's up to something. It's cool how the B&W treatment brings out the texture of the fabric beneath his oh-so-white paws. Great portrait of this fellow.
