Another Time - Bruce

Antony Gormley's seven foot high statue Another Time recently appeared on the roof of Exeter College in Broad Street in Oxford.
He's well known for his Angel of the North statue in Tyneside.

LOL. Yes, they are supposed to be him. I wonder if he has four discs too?!

One of my favourite artists. I read somewhere that all his statues are based on his own body.
he left out his dangly bits for the one in Winchester cathedral :-)

Thanks Dennis. It's rusty steel I think, but presumably stabilised.

Good capture Bruce, I like the perspective and the contrast created by the clear blue sky. Is the statue bronze/copper?

Thanks Shirley, this is only seven feet high, a lot smaller than the Angel of the North, and looks quite small up on the roof, but the low evening light and 50-200 helped. They are mostly based on his body. This one went up without planning permission, but luckily it's been granted now.

I've seen and photographed the Angel of the North, it is a sight to behold and like the angel this statue is also quite interesting. In fact I think you can see they are from the same artist after you are told about it. I'm really glad to see this "Another Time" statue. I like the lighting and very nice composition too.
