This shows the contrast between peaceful nature and bustling business. This is one of my favourite peaceful haunts. 15 HA of wetlands in the middle for a massive upmarket business/residential area. I often come here for an hour or so if I am passing and need a break. This is from a bird hide ( Pond 5) which backs on to the hide in the other picture ( Pond 4).

It’s a nature/business marriage that works. The development needs the water for the canals. The birds need the water to live. They use partially treated sewerage water in a series of ponds and dams. The wetland act like a sponge and there are algae’s in the ponds that break down the nutrients. The Water flows from pond to pond and is aerated until finally it reaches the canals. It’s a system where everyone wins. The good thing is that it's there to stay as if you destroy the wetlands you have no water for the canals which is the theme of the development.
