Thanks for the comments again. I did find somthing to reduce the banding but it sofened the shoot so I decided to leave it as it is.

Really a great shot. I like how the beak and tail feathers compliment the shapes of the barbed wire.

Hi Goffen. No there is no new lens it's actually been discontinued. I sent it in for repairs (Back focus) 9 months ago. I got it back from Japan a few weeks ago and they did a marvellous job repairing it. It is quite sharp now. It's the old Sigma story always better on the second copy or after the repair, but I am happy.

Thanks for the comments. This little guy very young could only fly an about 5m hops. It allowed be to get within 3mm of it. Unfortunately it will quickly learn that the world is a dangerous place. I did notice that the older Shrikes often perched on the razor wire maybe saying “come and get me if you can. “

It looks like he is shedding his baby feathers?
Really nice shot

This is a great baby shot and I wonder if knows just how dangerous those wires can be. he is in deed going to experience some big changes in the very near future. Is it going into spring spring time for him?

Remarkable shot ~ his expression is both wary and alert. I've never seen a shrike, so this little guy intrigues me. The feather detail is so clear!

How sweet is this! I see the banding you're talking about however it looks nice like a watercolor painting on textured paper so it looks good in this case. You do very well with those sigma lenses. Don't tempt me! No, I think I need wide more then length for the next lens. This is a great shot and yes this little guy is in for many changes in a short period of time.

Thanks for the comments. This was shoot with the "rejuvenated" 135-400. Now to work on the banding.

Geez, look at the detail on this fledgling. Good to see one of your bird shots here again, Collin. This is awesome.
