Yeah! Much stronger image now IMHO, you feel enveloped by swathes of red material.

Excellent title...let me find some Hendrix tunes now... I'd crop the left part of it, and make it square., putting the bug 1/3 left. Marc

Nice light and wonderful saturated colours and the eye gets drawn to the little bug. Maybe the overall composition is a bit too central?
