Thanks Brenda. These 'donuts' are called Rosquillas de San Isidro and typically are sold on the day of Saint Isidro (15th May), the patron saint of Madrid for the Fiestas.

The donuts look delectable, the gossip even more so! I feel like I'm eavesdropping.
