This is a great study of duty to the family and country. It shows the sacrifice of the self to the greater good of the larger community. That is why the UK with a little help from like minded people from across the pond won the battle to free Europe from the Nazis

I don’t mean to offend when I include GB as part of the continent; I just don’t want to get that specific.

Did I not Say I like this well I have been staring at it for quite some time now I just continue to find new and interesting aspects, like the guy with the camera tie and the woman next to him wearing her sweater as a diaper…. really funny.

Love that kid in the red hat.

Thanks both. It's a very British scene Brenda - we have to keep standards up! Smart but at the same time wonderfully amateurish and no nasty branding.

Charlie - I hadn't really taken the colour palette in - yes, the boats match the tent and the clothes.

I should have mentioned just how perfect the matching color palette is.

Love this image Bruce. The teenage boy looks positively bored and the matching couple in background seals the deal.!

There's so much detail here - all of it very interesting. I like the focus on the people on the platform rather than the competitors on the mostly-invisible boats. The starter with his red flag looks a bit incongruous in jacket and tie on what is clearly a very warm day - but I suppose officials must observe proper decorum.

A great shot that captures a single, suspended moment just before the action begins.
