Cockatoo in tree by Dennis

Bird was high up in tree and fully tested the limited reach of the 40-150 (old version). Wasn't sure if I should crop closer around bird so that only the tree trunk was in frame.

I love this!! Your cockatoo shots are both amazing but I think this one is a bit more unique and dramatic.

Terrific catch, Dennis. What an unusual and memorable sight.

I like it as is and would not crop any closer as the limbs and sky gives me perspective.
It reminds me of those high side pulpits as seen in the old classic cathedrals. He should be wearing a bishop’s hat

Shirley, so many questions:) I have posted the original image in originals and a post in the challenge thread to answer them.

well I love it! Is that a nesting place for them, in that hole in the tree? I just want to talk to him/her. Do the ones in the wild show a lot of interest in people? Like if you whislte to them or talk to them do they seem interested? I had to ask because this one seems very interested in the fellow taking pictures. :o) Can you sit and watch them play around or are they more serious in the wild? I love them, I think you are so lucky to get to see a sight like this. :o)
