Night Rider - Colin
by

Camera set to manual, exposure for the sky (a long story why, but we were a bit late finding a spot for the shoot, hence the iso800)
An FL-50 to the left mounted on a stand, on full pop into a reflector so the light spread back up the path and onto the field.
Got my "volunteer" to ride up and down and each time he passd the right point, I zapped him :-). We had time for about 3 shots before the light in the sky went.
Also used manual focus as it was getting really dark.

Thanks for the comments, Shirley, I have added some notes on the set-up so the "secret" is out:-)

I agree that the lighting is superb; it creates a very mellow feeling. That E3 works pretty well at iso800, doesn't it?

Beautiful lighting for this shot Colin! I really lke the effect, you'll have to tell us your secret. Well, or just e-mail it to me and I'll take it to my grave! :o) The rider's red hoodie grabs the eye too. I just love the light! The wheat/barley looks good too!
