When attempting to shoot contrary to the rule of thirds (which I like to do as often as I can!) one needs to make sure the image is square to the frame (i.e., level to the eye). The photographer has left this viewer wanting to straighten out the horizon - and the Monument. (The image is high left.) Even if the image were level, the water and Monument combine to bisect the picture space - not an appealing balance. Having said all that - the reflection is superb, and I love the sky...it compliments the image.
