It started as another solo trip. I hiked late in the afternoon to Mahogany Flats and camped at about 9,100ft. Next morning I continued over Shepherd Pass and camped at the little lake below the N-side of Mt Tyndall at about 12,300ft. In the afternoon I climbed the nameless 'Polychrome Peak' (13,018ft) for it's views over Williamson Bowl. When I got ready to leave for Mt Williamson (14,375ft) the next morning, I teamed up with three other climbers with the same goal that came along just at that time. We climbed Mt Williamson W-face without problem and teamed up again for Mt Tyndall (14,018ft) the next day. It was a pleasant change to climb with company for once. |
Es begann wieder als Wanderung alleine. Ich wanderte am Abend zu Mahogany Flats und machte Camp auf ca 2800m. Am nächsten Morgen stieg ich über Shepherd Pass und machte Lager bei einem kleinen See unter der N-Seite von Mt Tyndall auf ca 3770m. Am Nachmittag bestieg ich den namelosen 'Polychrome Peak' (3968m) für seine Aussicht in die Williamson Bowl. Als ich mich am nächsten Morgen gerade fertig machte für Mt Williamson, schloss ich mich mit drei anderen Kletteren zusammen die gerade zu der Zeit vorbeiwanderten und das gleiche Ziel hatten. Wir bestiegen Mt Williamson (4382m) ohne Probleme und schlossen uns für Mt Tyndall (4273m) am nächsten Tag wieder zusammen. Es war eine angenehme Abwechslung einmal nicht alleine unterwegs zu sein. |
