The Linnet L 12,5-14cm (4.9-5.5") breeds in farmland, bushes, fruit plantations, gardens, moorlands, and tidal meadows with low bushes. The pairs sticks closely together during the summer season. The Linnet is a small jaunty, slim, and pretty long tailed bird. With a relative short dark grey bill, cinnamon brown back, beige throat, grey chins with lighter areas around the the eyes. White panels along the primaries and the base of the tail. The male has a red forehead and breast with a grey neck. The female without red in the plume, brown grey neck, weak stripes on the breast and forehead. |
