| The House Sparrow L 14-16cm (5.5-6.3") breeds in human surroundings both in cities and countryside. The House Sparrow is a very social bird and is usually seen in large flocks. The nest is build under the eaves, in ventilation holes and in bushes. The House Sparrow is a robust bird with a wide body, pretty large head and bill. It has a black striped brown back. The male has a black bib and eye-mask, a grey crown and chin with a brown nape, the throat sides is white, and a wide white wing bar. The female has a grey beige breast and abdomen, a beige eye brow and a light brown crown. |
