The Chiffchaff L 10-12cm (3.9-4.7") is a warbler breeding in various types of forests, but specially in needle leaf forest. Nesting at ground level or in dense ground vegetation, covered and padded with feathers. It's very similar to the Willow warbler. The back is green brown, the belly is greyish white with various yellow and beige coloured throat and breast. Often more beige breast sides than the Willow warbler in the autumn. The legs are dark and the bill is thin and often pretty dark. Normally a pretty short and weak light eye brow, relative dark eye line, which splits the white eye-ring. |
