This is a recent view of the first home built for F.Z. Bishop, founder of Bishop, TX. It is located on 5th Street, just one block from the US Post Office. The famous Bishop Hotel once stood on its east side. Presently on its west side is the former Humble Service Station, facing Business Hwy. 77, once operated by Andy Hamilton and then by his son, George Hamilton. It is now believed to be owned by Stoke Holmes, III, and has been vacant for many years.
