Since I was stuck for quite awhile, I decided to work on some other things. This is a power supply - it takes 9V (give or take) in from a wall wart and regulates and filters it to a nice smooth 5V, perfect for microprocessors. This was originally on my breadboard, but I decided A> I needed soldering practice and B> I might as well save the room on the breadboard. So, this is the power supply circuit on a prototyping board. (I imagine for quite awhile most everything I do will be on either a prototyping board or a breadboard - I can't see getting into custom etching yet) Two wires lead to the 9V source and two wires lead to the breadboard. The red LED just shows that it is on.
