Western Kingbirds First nestings in Eastern Arkansas
Since finding the first nests of Western Kingbirds in TN and MS, I've been looking for them in Eastern Arkansas but decided one day to try the Blytheville Industrial Park. They have moved into Arkansas on the west side of the state and a nest or two have been found in Central Arkansas, so finding them over this way was only a matter of time. I ran out of light that evening and I had not covered half of the area, so I would would not be surprised if other nests are found. Three nests and nine birds was not a bad start.
A fourth nest was located on June 25 very close to nest number 3 and the other three nests were still being attended.
