I've been fortunate in finding and documenting over 30 first state records here in the Mid-south during 30 years of birding.

Now, I'm having to reorganize and rescan hundreds of slides and reworking even more digital shots, all because of a burgulary at my home that scattered and dislocated thousands of images. Going through these are bringing back a lot of memories of good times in the field here in the mid-south and I thought I'd share some of the more unusual or record sightings that I've been lucky enough to find and document over my years of birding.

I've thrown in a few unusual nestings. As I rescan old slides I'll add other shots from time to time but I may never finish this task.

The Snowy Plover, Limpkin (Hatchie sighting) and the Curlew Sandpiper were found by others but I think many birders will enjoy seeing the only photos taken of these three birds in Tennessee. All the others were stumbled across in my wanderings here in the mid-south. Hope they bring back a few memories for those of you that have shared with me some of these great birds.
