These two female Ruff (Reeves) were found on May 3, 2005. The two birds represent numbers 15 and 16 of this species found at this location. A third bird was found on May 4, number 17 and I've added a portrait shot of that bird. Ten Reeves have now shown up during spring migration and seven Ruffs have appeared in fall. Three of the males were immature birds, one adult male stayed 2 months and a female spent a little time here in July. I suspect these birds have to be nesting somewhere to the north of us in Canada.
