I found this Yellow-billed Loon on Feb. 21 and it was seen over the week even in bad weather. Saturday the 28th was an almost perfect day and this bird put on a great show with almost everyone getting a new State bird and many enjoyed good looks at their State and lifer Red-throated Loon of which 5 were seen and Pacific Loon of which at least 2 were seen. There were about 200 Common Loons using the area and most of the birds came to roost right out from our group. Many times 3 species of loons were seen in one sweep of the scope but try as we might we could not get all 4 species at one time. Aaahhh!! such is Life.
