Cooper's Hawks were everywhere you looked this year, with multiples seen many days as I traveled around city and country side. Cooper's try to surprise Wind Birds at the pits but are seldom successful. Not so with this large female as she flew low over a levee and pounced into the middle of a feeding flock right in front of me. One more Pectoral will not make the South American reunion this year.
