This adult was sitting close to its nest at the Pits in Ensley Bottoms, Memphis TN. The nest was full with two huge, downy young. One of 20 Great Horned Owl nests found this season in a 5 county area in TN-AR-MS. There were 3 nests in Ensley Bottoms this year.
