Here is exactly how we found the remains of the immature Lesser Yellowlegs, laid out almost ritualistically. Nearly all was eaten but when we turned the carcass over we found that the youngster had evidently been in good health as there was a good 1/8 inch layer of creamy fat on a small portion of the breast.
