This bird was seen in Ensley Bottoms, Memphis, TN May 2004. The light morph Harlan's makes up only about 1% of all Harlan's and are pretty rare over our way and I only see one every few years. Note the white underwing with the distinctive black patagial mark and an unusual, almost unmarked white belly. The tail on this bird was mostly whitish with gray streaking or mottling running length wise. There was also rufous on the terminal edge of the tail with streaks running up toward the rump. I was lucky enough to get a portrait shot of its head. See the next image.
