The bird was chased by all the Pectoral Sandpipers present and was smaller and slimmer. The bird in the background here is a Semipalmated Sandpiper and this Pectoral was only slighty larger. I finally got another birder to come and view the bird. We had it standing and feeding next to a Semipalmated PLOVER for quite some time. He noted, just as I had, the odd Pectoral was the same size overall but slimmer!! This has to be the smallest Pectoral Sandpiper I have ever seen and I closely study thousands a year.
