Two western calurus Red-tails were found sitting together at Shelby Farms. This light morph bird evidently has a deformed lower mandible allowing for the distinct overbite of the upper mandible. Seems like more and more photos are showing up on the net of western birds, Chickadees to Raptors showing such bill defects.
