The bird was surrounded by 22 Forster's Terns, 1 Common Tern and 4 or 5 Least Terns. It was viewed for about 20minutes mostly as it preened but briefly in flight as it flew behind Loosahatchie Bar and out of sight.
The bill shape and its orange not reddish orange color with no dark shading at the tip was all that was needed to know the bird demanded attention. The black shaggy feathers from the rear of the crown to the nape, plain, bright white crown from bill to behind the eye, and slim bill pretty much nailed the ID.
