Correction:Previous post should read " I am not sure, but I think this is a promontory obscuring the view of Cape Point. Cape Point is is end of the Cape Peninsula.

Sorry to give you another correction, but I am not sure that this is actually a picture of a promontory that is obscuring Cape Point, in the Cape Of Good Hope nature reserve. You have misnamed it Cape Hope, it is the Cape of Good Hope. Orinally named by the Portuguese navigator Bartholomew Diaz as "Cabo de Boa Esperanca" in English, the Cape of Good Hope. South Africans always refer to it by its full name. Drake later rounded the cape in a violent storm and called it the Cape of Storms, also an apt name for certain times of the year, but that never stuck and it always the Cape of Good Hope.
