Lake McMurtry east area 6 miles north of Stillwater, Ok (home of the OSU Cowboys) off Hwy 177 and 6 miles west on Burris Rd and west area 3 miles west of town on Hwy 51, turn north on Redland Rd and follow signs. Lake McMurtry is managed by the Stillwater Parks, Events and Recreation Department. It offers camping, swimming, fishing, boating, mountain bike/hiking trails and bird watching. Group facilities, picnic areas, outdoor grills, fire rings, restrooms,fishing dock (inclosed), and boat ramp/dock on site. Campgrounds include RV campsites (16 water/electric hookups), tent campsites and city water. We spent over night there and was the only campers during a week day. Everything was very well took care of and the view was great, made for very good photograpy setting. If your in the area and looking for a good get-a-way spot this may be what you are looking for. Also, pets are allowed - our little dog had so much fun checking out the lake and trails. Remember to be a good pet owner and keep pets an a leash and think of others.
