…thought about quitting my job today
It was that kind of day
Thought about how life can feel so mediocre
Such hope that I had as a child long forgotten
Days all seem to look the same now
Like a metronome, sounding a steady passing of time
Hope is left even farther behind
I’ll go to work again tomorrow
